"The movement is born of the resonance of breaths » (气韵生动) The Chinese thought has guided the process of this interactive installation in which we linked two crucial elements necessary for life : the heart and lungs. The heart temple of energy , powered by the lungs that connect us to the outside by the air we breathe. This oxygen which vibrates our vocal cords and allows the expression of our ideas. Using the principle of cymatics ( visualization of sound through elements ) ; here with sand , there is an immediate organization of matter akin to geometric figures resembling at times to written symbols . The sand is agitated and moves away from the surfaces or the amplitude of the sound waves is at maximum. The material focuses as nodal lines where there is no sound, no vibration . We can compare this physical phenomenon of traditional Chinese thinking on the balance of full and empty and their begetting in perpetual motion . The vacuum is the same place in life , where the energy can flow and allow the transformations . With our interactive device we visualize this "void" the lack of material as a space full of obviously invisible but nonetheless existing vibrations. In this "void" vibration is emerging lines of our voices that resound in space and to transform it the course of our thoughts, the rhythm of our heart that beats . NMA ( Ningbo Museum Of Art) from 2015 Dec 10th to 25th 2 SOLO EXHIBITIONS OF *LLND:
"ORBITAL RESONANCE" In the past years, we made some Cymatic tools to create new Artworks series , paintings , photography , installations … Cymatics is the science of visualization of sound through water , oils , sands . Our first artwork of this serie was the vibration is of a 8HZ tone inside water because 8HZ is also the mankind’s awaken state’s brainwaves and according to Schuman’s resonance , it is also the Earth frequency . Much early, Pythagoras found a numerical explanation of the universe and revealed the numerical ratios which determine the intervals of the musical scale. Musical scale originated from his research which was inspired by the planets orbiting. For this exhibition, we are using the orbital frequencies of the planets scaled to the hearing domain and we vibrate these tones in water. The planets frequencies we use come from calculating the time it takes each planet to orbit the Sun AND THEIR ROTATION SPEED. Pythagoras speaks about the Harmony of the spheres and latter Kepler made more calculations and defined the music of the spheres. Understanding the Universe has been a great questioning over the ages; from the most ancient civilizations … to the contemporary science and for us a great inspiration in our art .
