"THE RESONANCE OF THE BREATHS".
"The movement is born of the resonance of breaths »
(气韵生动)
The Chinese thought has guided the process of this interactive installation in which we linked two crucial elements necessary for life : the heart and lungs.
The heart temple of energy , powered by the lungs that connect us to the outside by the air we breathe. This oxygen which vibrates our vocal cords and allows the expression of our ideas.
Using the principle of cymatics ( visualization of sound through elements ) ;
here with sand , there is an immediate organization of matter akin to geometric figures resembling at times to written symbols .
The sand is agitated and moves away from the surfaces or the amplitude of the sound waves is at maximum.
The material focuses as nodal lines where there is no sound, no vibration .
We can compare this physical phenomenon of traditional Chinese thinking on the balance of full and empty and their begetting in perpetual motion .
The vacuum is the same place in life , where the energy can flow and allow the transformations .
With our interactive device we visualize this "void" the lack of material as a space full of obviously invisible but nonetheless existing vibrations.
In this "void" vibration is emerging lines of our voices that resound in space and to transform it the course of our thoughts, the rhythm of our heart that beats .
